Kirkcaldy Canoe Club paddlers travelled to Linlithgow recently for the final race of the 2009 season and the Scottish Canoe Association annual prize giving for sprint and marathon racing.
The prize giving coincided with the K2 10 km Scottish Championships which were held on Linlithgow Loch. This race was held in good conditions with a light westerly wind. The course was five laps of the loch.
In the 10km event, first place was taken by Kirkcaldy paddlers Neil Chalmers and Colin McMorrin. On the 6km course for juniors, Paula Henderson finished second with Linlithgow paddler Rhonwyn Smith. Rachel Syme won the U12 2km course with Amy Redmond of Linlithgow.
