Kirkcaldy Canoe Club Triumphs on the Millennium Link

A team of ten paddlers from Kirkcaldy Canoe Club recently took part in the Glasgow to Edinburgh Canoe Challenge along the Millennium Link. The race took place over 2 days and covered 55 miles from Speirs Wharf on the Forth & Clyde Canal in the centre of Glasgow, continuing across Central Scotland including a change to the Union Canal at the Falkirk Wheel, and culminated on 25th April in a finish in the heart of the Capital at Lochrin Basin, Fountainbridge.

The race included intrepid and determined individual paddlers completing the course entirely on their own as well as several team classes. The Kirkcaldy team took part in the K2 Relay Team race which involved pairs of paddlers paddling together over alternate sections of up to 7 miles in length.
