Loch Lubnaig Marathon - Saturday 14^th August

2011  (Hasler Qualifying Event)

Venue - Loch  Lubnaig on A 84 c 8miles north  of  Callander

Access -  Race control and access to Loch is from Immervoulin caravan park at the north end of loch.  Short paddle down river to the start of the race on loch.

Showers (coin meters )available after the race.

Long Course  2 Complete circuits of the Loch - 13 miles (Senior Men Championship course)

Start & finish at the north end of the loch. Keep to the right of the buoy at Ardchullierie when returning back up the Loch.

Long Course - Briefing 2.30 p.m.             Start 3 p.m.

Short Course    1 complete circuit of the loch  -  6.5 miles (Junior, Ladies & Vet Champs Course)

                        Start & finish at the north end of the loch. Keep to the right of the buoy at Ardchullerie when returning back up the Loch.

Short Course - Briefing 2.30 p.m.             Start 3 p.m.

Mini Course        Half a circuit of the loch   -    3 miles  (Under 16, 14 Championship Course)

                        Start & finish at the north end of the loch turning anti-clockwise round the buoy at Ardchullierie Point. In the event of bad weather on the loch an alternative course may be set.

Mini Course - Briefing 3:45pm.             Start c.4:15pm

Lightning Course        Part of the Lightning League 1.5 miles

                        Start & finish at the north end of the loch. The course will be set on the day taking the weather conditions into account

Lightning - Briefing 3:45p.m.             Start c.4:15 p.m.

Entries: Long & Short Courses 1:30pm- 2:15pm  Mini & Lightning until 3:30pm.

                                    Seniors £3.50   Juniors £2..50

SAFETY

All competitors under 16 years of age must wear buoyancy aids and dependant on water and weather conditions the organizer may insist on all paddlers wearing approved buoyancy aids.

Paddlers competing in closed cockpit boats must wear an approved crash helmet.

Sunday 15^th August 2011

All races will start at 11am. Start and finish line at the north end of the loch.

In addition to the K2 Champs a Lightning  and novice K1 race will also be run.

Entries : Entries will be taken with marathon entries on Saturday or between 10am & 10:30am on Sunday morning.
