K4 Information

K4's are the longest racing kayaks. They are crewed by four people, and are also the fastest boats.

They have similar construction techniques to the smaller boats. They have a maximum length of 1100cm, and for sprint a minimum weight of 30kg. They are usually only used for sprint due to their length and fragility, however Kirkcaldy paddlers have raced the Glasgow-Edinburgh canal marathon in a K4.

Kirkcaldy Canoe Club have a fleet of three K4's.

K4 records are as follows:

May 08 200m (seconds) 500m (min.sec) 1000m (min.sec)
K4 M 29.023 1:19.650 2:49.875
K4 F 33.778 1:30.765 3:13.296
